Waiting for 2019

Matera is waiting for the new year: the holiday season is waited more than ever. The New Year is around the corner and the celebrations will have their top on January 19th, 2019, with the inauguration of Matera as European Capital of Culture.

All the people living in Matera are waiting the next ‘magic year’ for the city with particular enthusiasm for the numerous events that it will bring.
As you probably know, in 2019 Matera, the city carved into the rocks, will be European Capital of Culture.
We are really excited and we can’t wait for January 19th.
